These are houses built in traditional Khmer style, raised on stilts to be above the seasonal flood waters and to provide shelter underneath from the daily heat, and with the two-peaked roof (one lower than the other) that is a mark of all Cambodian houses.  The two houses in this and the following photo are rather substantial indicating that farming has been good for the people in this part of Takeo.
